Dear Mensans,
The gathering in Belgrade during the Beer Fest is already becoming a tradition – this year’s shall be our 7th gathering. It is planned for the weekend of 20 – 22 August 2010. Like before, we have tried to make an up-to-date, wide ranging and interesting schedule. You shall be the judge of our success with your applications and particularly your reactions (with a little luck, we might receive a review or two for our newsletter).
THE SCHEDULE
Friday, 20 August
- 7 p.m. the lecture “CLEVERNESS OF THE HEART – about the meeting of intelligence and love” by Sc.D. Zoran Milivojevic
It is difficult to present the lecturer in only a few words. Zoran Milivojevic, MD is a psychiatrist, a psychotherapist – a transactional analyst, an international supervisor and educator for transactional analysis. He is a selected international lecturer at Sigmund Freud University in Vienna and the president of The Serbian Union of Associations For Psychotherapy. He is the author of several extraordinary textbooks and books, such as “Emotions – Psychotherapy and understanding emotions”, Psihopolis, 2007, published in two editions and seven printings, “The formulae of love – How not to ruin one’s own life when in pursuit of true love”, Psihopolis, 2008; together with his Slovenian colleagues, he published the very practical and richly illustrated handbook, “A small book for great parents”, 2004.
The lecture will be held in the Roman Hall of the Belgrade City Library on 56 Knez Mihajlova street.

Saturday, 21 August

- 4 p.m. Belgrade fortress – Sava promenade – a visit to Dragoljub Zamurovic’s exhibition of digigraphies, which are modeled on paintings from Florence’s Uffizi Gallery, the most visited museum in Italy. The exhibition consists of 36 digigraphies on canvas by our well-known photographer, who had used this innovative technique to create reproductions of masterpieces by Botticelli, Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, Sebastiano del Piombo, Dürer, Goya, Andrea del Verrocchio and other great artists. Digigraphy is a process of scanning, treating and printing paintings on a special cardboard or canvas where the final touches are put to the painting with a small brush. Other than digigraphies, the exhibition on the Fortress features photographs of landscapes, customs and everyday life from different parts of Serbia.
- 5 p.m. Belgrade Fortress below the Sahat tower in Gornji grad: Children’s summer playground allows the children of preschool and early school age to get familiar with toys that their grandparents grew up playing with. Experts from this workshop have told us that parents who bring their kids get carried away playing tipcat. We shall see if proverb “brain over brawn” is true.
- 6 p.m. picnic in the Zoo – bring your kids (or your cousins’, neighbours’ or godparents’ kids) to meet the Zoo’s young. Adults are welcome as well. J
- Alternatively, if you are not an animal lover, you can take a ride on the Danube and Sava rivers. The boat “Belgrade 25” departs at 6:30 p.m. from the quay outside of “Gale Muskatirovic” sports centre (the former “25. maj”), located on 63 Tadeusa Koscuska street. The voyage takes 90 minutes.
